Family Social Event Recap | November 29, 2025 🌟
The TULIP Association of Canada Ottawa hosted a Family Social Event focused on “How to Raise Children in a Digital Age.” The event was designed to support and empower parents and caregivers by creating a safe, welcoming space to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversation about parenting in today’s technology-driven world.
With approximately 60 community members in attendance and the support of 10 dedicated volunteers, the evening featured insightful presentations and an interactive Q&A session that sparked thoughtful discussion and shared learning.
We were honored to welcome speakers from the Ottawa Police Service, including Mohamed A. Islam, alongside respected community speaker Sister Omaima Faris. Their combined professional expertise and community-based perspectives offered practical advice, real-life examples, and culturally relevant insights that resonated strongly with attendees.
Participants actively engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and shared personal experiences related to online safety, digital responsibility, and effective communication with children. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many families expressing increased awareness and requesting more family-focused educational programs in the future.
A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, volunteers, and all families who joined us. Events like this highlight the power of collaboration between community leaders, professionals, and families in addressing timely and important issues.
